A union has launched a campaign calling on the council to end the “sexual discrimination” of carers and nursery staff who are forced to pay fees they need to work.GMB filed a formal grievance with West Dunbartonshire Council yesterday (Monday), saying the workers, who are predominantly women, are being unfairly treated.The union says the local authority pays for similar fees for craft workers, including Corgi registration fees for gas fitters and plumbers.But this does not extend to those who work in the council’s care sector and require Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registrations, which are compulsory for their roles.Last week, GMB organisers lobbied councillors ahead of the budget and urged them to sign a pledge board supporting
