'Twisters,' Sequel to 1996 Classic 'Twister,' Is in the Works
justjared.comTwisters is coming! The sequel to the 1996 blockbuster film Twister is officially in the works, with Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment meeting with directors for a planned Spring 2023 start, via Deadline.

Smith, and his enthusiasm fast-tracked the movie. Joseph Kosinski was going to direct, but he committed to the Formula One racing movie for Brad Pitt that Apple acquired last June instead.
Contenders to direct include the Free Solo team of Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vaserhelyi, Dan Trachtenberg and Travis Knight. Jan De Bont directed the original.
