Max Chandler, 28, was found by his family on December 27, 2020, in the bedroom of the Hillsborough Drive, Bury, home he shared with his mother and brother, Kit.

An inquest into his death heard Max, a dad-of-one, had a rare heart disorder which, combined with cocaine and methadone use, killed him.

Max, a number eight, had played for Sedgley Park Tigers and Rossendale, who after his death described him as 'a gentle giant'.
