Drivers will now only have to pay one way on a 12p toll bridge after operators put new measures in place to alleviate the risk of coronavirus.

Peel Ports has put a one way collection system in place and temporarily suspended 25p day tickets at Warburton Bridge, in Cheshire.

Drivers travelling northbound towards Partington will be asked to pay 12p and must have the exact money ready as change will not be given.

Those travelling southbound towards Lymm will not be asked for payment. The u-turn comes after operators were pictured working in close proximity in the booth, apparently going against guidelines to maintain a two metre distance during the pandemic.
