Thug doorman leaves Scot with brain injury after punching him on Liverpool stag do

A Scots man was left with a brain injury after being knocked unconscious by a doorman on a stag do in Liverpool.Craig Lamarque, who was off-duty, struck his "completely defenceless" victim moments after he had been chucked out of a bar.

He was said to initially have acted as a peacemaker before he punched the man in the face, causing him to fall to the floor and suffer a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.The dad was jailed over the incident, which took place in Liverpool city centre, on what was his son's fourth birthday.

Liverpool Crown Court heard how Mark Sneddon had been visiting the city for the weekend with friends for a stag do.As reported in the Liverpool Echo, the group, from Scotland, had been inside Woody's Sports and Karaoke Bar before they were chucked out.

The court heard how Mr Sneddon had been "drunk and being a bit of a nuisance" as well as acting "aggressively" with others in his group.Kate Morley, prosecuting, described how he was asked to leave as a result, and was "palmed to the floor" by security staff member Will Peters as he was escorted out of the premises.
