direct to your inboxPop-up cycle lanes, planters blocking roads and other traffic calming measures have been installed across Trafford since the start of the pandemic – but they have proven ‘very divisive’.Those are the words of one council officer who said almost every scheme that has been introduced during the last few months has split opinion.With strong feelings on both sides, the council’s officers set out a road map outlining what they plan to do over the coming months with the schemes during a council meeting.Projects launched since March 2020 include modal filters to shut roads off from motor vehicles near Longford Park and at Oldfield Lane in Altrincham, bollards along Lostock Road in Urmston to create cycle lanes and pop-up cycle.
