As the coronavirus crisis hits its peak in Greater Manchester, many bus drivers are ploughing on despite fears for their own welfare and the health of their families.

Bus operators say they are closely following Government guidance and have taken a range of measures to adapt to these unprecedented times - which have brought the challenges of slashed passenger numbers and spiralling revenue.

But with 29 London transport workers now having died after testing positive for COVID-19, Unite the union says drivers here still have a number of concerns about conditions at work - ranging from handling cash to a lack of gloves and masks, to working hours and the limitations of social distancing on public transport.
