The government announced new restrictions in response to the emergence of the Omicron variant of Covid-19. It includes new guidance to work from home wherever possible, a mandatory NHS Covid Pass and mandatory face coverings in certain settings.

But there are some settings where you are exempt from wearing a face covering. The government website on Covid-19 guidance states that it is not recommended to wear a face mask while exercising or doing strenuous physical activity.
