Tesco rounded up shoppers’ bills to the nearest pound without their permission, it has been claimed. The supermarket’s new charity scheme was introduced to help support vital charities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The initiative means customers can round up the nearest pound when checking out with the spare pennies going to either Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK or the British Heart Foundation.
But some disgruntled shoppers have expressed annoyance that they weren’t asked before donating to the scheme, Mirror Money reports.
