Former tennis player Boris Becker has been jailed after concealing hundreds of thousands of pounds following a 2017 bankruptcy.The three-time Wimbledon winner, 54, was found guilty of four charges under the Insolvency Act by a jury at Southwark Crown Court earlier this month, including removal of property, two counts of failing to disclose estate and concealing debt.
He was sentenced on Friday 29 April to two years and six months in prison. Appealing for a lenient sentence on Friday afternoon, his lawyer Jonathan Laidlaw, QC said the ex-tennis pro has "literally nothing".
He told the court: "Boris Becker has literally nothing and there is nothing to show for what was the most glittering of sporting careers.
