Jackson Rutland, 19, contacted his ex around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday to inform her he had taken some of her mother's ashes.The ex was not home at the time, as she had spent the night at a friend's house.

A 15-year-old girl in Detroit, Michigan, fatally stabbed her mother during an argument in front of their home, according to police. The two were in an argument wielding knives on Thursday when the victim's father drove up and witnessed the incident, Detroit Police said.The victim, 41, was rushed to the hospital by her father. Two robbery suspects were shot and killed by a jewelry store owner during a robbery attempt inside a Florida shopping mall, and two other suspects are being sought, police said.  The robbery occurred at the Magic Mall in Orlando when four suspects robbed a jewelry booth with at least one of them armed, the Orlando Police Department told Fox News. A Kansas woman accused of murdering her ex-husband and his girlfriend two decades ago has been released on bond after a judge reduced the amount to $350,000 from $1 million last month. Eight days after Georgia toddler Quinton Simon was reported missing from his Savannah home, police announced Thursday that they have not yet located the 20-month-old's remains, despite naming a prime suspect – his mother – and accumulating evidence to indicate that he is no longer alive.  "Sadly, we still have not found Quinton," said Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley. "The evidence that we have so far, based on multiple search warrants and interviews, has led us to the conclusion that Quinton is deceased." A Georgia man is behind bars on multiple charges after he allegedly tried to kill twin infants. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, 22-year-old Robert Terrell Dubose Jr., of Rome, is accused of breaking the neck of a 3-month-old girl and trying to smother her twin sister while they were both crying during an Oct. 3 incident.

Debbie Collier, the Georgia office manager found dead one month ago, will be laid to rest after a private memorial service, according to an obituary published in her local Athens newspaper Monday. Her killer remains at large, and investigators have not yet publicly named a person of interest or suspect. The Department of Defense sent a survey to service members last month asking dozens of questions about race relations and equity, along with a range of new questions about the "estimated prevalence of exposure to extremist activity in the military." According to a draft of the Workplace and Equal Opportunity survey obtained by Fox News Digital, the Pentagon wants to know whether "racist/extremist organizations or individuals" are a problem both where they work and in the community around their duty station.They also want to know if service members "know how to report experiences of extremist activity."
