Video footage shared to Twitter shows an audience member run on stage and attempt to tackle the comedian to the ground as he is performing a set. A man who was reportedly armed with a gun and a knife was taken into custody.

Blossoms’ gig in Stockport last night (May 3) was interrupted by a fire alarm, causing the venue to be temporarily evacuated.The band were due to play a hometown show at the Stockport Plaza after premiering their Ribbon Around The Bomb film, which is accompanying their new album of the same name.Before the band went on stage, however, the Plaza’s fire alarm went off, forcing an evacuation of the audience.Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, one audience member said: “Blossoms weren’t on yet. Kanye West is facing a lawsuit from a Texas pastor who claims the rapper sampled his sermon on the ‘Donda’ track ‘Come To Life’.According to TMZ, Bishop David Paul Moten is suing the rapper, UMG Recordings, Def Jam Recordings and G.O.O.D Music for allegedly sampling audio of his sermon without seeking permission.Moten claims West used his sermon for 70 seconds on the track, which is more than 20 per cent of the song.The Bishop allegedly criticised the rapper and the music industry for “wilfully and egregiously sampling sound recordings of others without consent or permission”.It comes just a week after the rights holder of the King Crimson sample in West’s ‘Power’, from his 2010 album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, announced they were suing Universal Music Group.Mechanical rights holder to Crimson’s ’21st Century Schizoid Man’, Declan Colgan Music Ltd, claims that Universal underpaid streaming royalties for the use of that song on ‘Power’.The label is allegedly paying Declan Colgan Music a percentage of what it receives from streams, which is a lower amount than what CD sales would have produced.The rights holder is claiming that Universal “failed, and continues to fail, to comply with its royalty accounting obligations”.In a statement, King Crimson’s Robert Fripp said: “There is a longer story to be told, and likely to astound innocents and decent, ordinary people who believe that one is paid equitably for their work, and on the appointed payday.“This dispute has been dragging on for several years, unnecessarily IMO,” he added.

Activision has acknowledged that the studio’s “own execution” caused a disappointing reception to Call Of Duty: Vanguard, and admitted the title “didn’t deliver as much innovation” as it would have liked.Shortly after Vanguard launched, it was reported that launch sales were down 40 per cent compared to the last Call Of Duty title, Black Ops Cold War.In Activision’s 2021 annual report, the company has now reflected on what it thinks went wrong for Vanguard.“[Vanguard] didn’t meet our expectations, we believe primarily due to our own execution,” said Activision.

Lise Pedersen Ukrainian filmmakers and producers discussed the act of resisting war through images during an online talk Thursday at international documentary film festival Visions du Réel.The panel was made up of producer Illia Gladshtein and director Nadia Parfan, whose film “Heat Singers” screened at the festival in 2019, Maksim Nakonechnyi, whose debut film “Butterfly Vision” will be in the Un Certain Regard section in Cannes next month, and photographer and director Artem Iurchenko (“Cursed Days,” 2018).Nakonechnyi has been shooting in Ukraine since the first days of the war and Parfan returned from an artist’s residence in Egypt in the wake of the Russian invasion to document what was happening in her country. Iurchenko, who is based in Paris, has been traveling across Europe in his car since the start of the war, transporting refugees, equipment, medical and humanitarian aid to and from Ukraine.

Nick Vivarelli International CorrespondentLithuanian film director and academic Mantas Kvedaravicius, who captured the escalating conflict in Ukraine in several powerful works, has been reported dead in Mariupol, the Ukrainian city that was the subject of his doc “Mariupolis” that premiered in Berlin.“While (he was) trying to leave Mariupol, Russian occupiers killed Lithuanian director Mantas Kvedaravicius,” the Ukrainian Defence Ministry tweeted on Saturday. Kvedaravicius was 45.  A Lithuanian news agency called 15min reported that Kvedaravicius was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved.News that Kvedaravicius has been killed by the Russian military — which could not be verified with family members — has prompted an outpour of statements and social media posts mourning the director’s death.
