A pioneering new project aimed at bringing comfort to elderly residents is set to get under way in Dumfries.Summerhill Community Centre, who have spear-headed a range of projects to boost the community during the coronavirus crisis, have joined forces with two leading businesses to help self-isolating residents.Bosses at the centre have teamed up with Dumfries Tesco Extra, as well as energy giant Scottish Gas, to help the community battle through lockdown.Youth volunteers at Summerhill have also backed the bid to supply essential items to help housebound residents battle the lockdown blues.Now elderly residents who are shielding will be able to have items such as jigsaws or magazines delivered to their homes, thanks to the centre’s bike
