Stephen Robinson isn’t reading too much into Rangers blip in form after the reigning Premiership champions suffered two painful defeats on the bounce.
But the St Mirren boss does believe his side have every chance of making that three losses on the spin if they’re solid in defence and brave on the ball come tomorrow afternoon.
The Saints welcome Gio van Bronckhorst’s side to the SMISA Stadium, with the visitors having only just returned from Portugal after a 1-0 defeat to Braga in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final.Robinson feels the strength of the Govan club’s squad means that fatigue won’t play too big a part come kick-off tomorrow.
Nevertheless he is hoping his side can be brave and take the game to Rangers as the Buddies look to end their own run of three consecutive defeats.Robinson told Express Sport: “I don’t think their two recent results will make a difference to their level of performance.“I also don’t think with the size of Rangers squad, and the quality of players they’ve got to come back in, that Thursday’s trip will have any effect on the game at all.“It’s always tough against Rangers.
