Stephen O'Donnell pens new Motherwell contract as Scotland international extends Fir Park stay

Scotland right-back. Former Kilmarnock man O'Donnell signed for the Steelmen last summer, initially only until January. But he's settled in well in Lanarkshire despite an up-and-down season that has seen the departure of Stephen Robinson and a bottom-half Premiership finish.

He's even captained the team in the absence of Declan Gallagher and Trevor Carson and his deal now runs until 2023. And it was as a Motherwell player that O'Donnell played a massive role, alongside Gallagher, in punching Scotland's ticket to a major finals for the first time since 1998 in the form of this summer's Euros.
