Click inside to find out why… The tweet that was sent out in March of 2009 was an announcement tweet that read, “Sony Pictures to release Spider-Man 4 on May 6, 2011.” Since today is May 6, 2021, fans are mourning what would have been the 10 year anniversary of the film that was ultimately never made.
Spider-Man 4 was supposed to be a follow up to Spider-Man 3, released in 2007, starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst as Spider-Man and Mary-Jane.
The cast was rumored to also include John Malkovich as Vulture/Adrian Toomes and Anne Hathaway as Black Cat/Felicia Hardy.
