Scottish Labour candidate Keiran O'Neill said Scotland's largest city had been "underfunded to a critical level" over the last decade and was now paying the price.Residents have been up in arms after Glasgow Life - a charity set-up by the city council to manage its sport and cultural venues - published a list of facilities that would soon reopen when lockdown restrictions ease, but left question marks over the future of almost 60 libraries, sports pitches, museums and community centres.Among the buildings which face an uncertain future is Maryhill Library which was first opened in 1905 thanks to a bequest from Andrew Carnegie.Council chiefs insist the premises in the north of the city is run-down and the library would be better off housed.
