Thundersnow is expected to batter large parts of Scotland over the next couple of days, according to forecasters. A yellow weather warning for snow and lightning has been issued from 5pm today until 8pm on Thursday evening.
The Met Office has warned that heavy snow showers and very gusty winds will hit the country in its ‘danger to life’ alert. Up to 20cm of snow could land in some parts of the country, which will make driving conditions difficult for many this evening and throughout tomorrow.
The snow poses a number of risks for drivers, including potential skidding while the chances of getting stuck out there are much higher than normal.There are also a number of rules that Scots must adhere to before they set off on their travels in their car.
Ahead of the adverse wintry weather hitting the country, the RAC has advised drivers of the rules that they should be aware of.
