The Scottish Government-owned Prestwick Airport has been blasted for giving free parking to private jets during the climate crisis.

Aircraft can enjoy the freebie for 24 hours - a perk critics say makes a mockery of Scotland’s green credentials as it gets set to host the COP26 summit in Glasgow.

Labour MSP Monica Lennon said: “Unless Nicola Sturgeon begins to close the gap between her words and actions, she’ll be remembered as a climate hypocrite. “Allowing private jets and aircraft to park for free at the Scottish government-owned Prestwick Airport is out of step with other airports, out of touch with the public and contradicts the race to Net Zero.”The eyes of the world will be on Scotland this month when Glasgow hosts the COP26 climate
