Scots woman hands bank card to fraudster posing as police officer on doorstep

Stirling, handed over her credit card to a scam artist on Saturday after receiving a phone call from a man posing as a police officer.

The man claimed to be calling because police had been notified of suspicious activity on her bank account.The victim was told a police officer would attend her home to collect her bank card.She handed her hard over to the fraudster.Scots cops are warning others to be vigilant.Crime Prevention Officer Bryan Mackie said: “Luckily banking protocols prevented any money from being taken from the woman’s account, however it is important people are aware of this scam and avoid falling victim.“The man who collected the woman’s bank card is believed to have shown some form of identification, however a police officer.
