Scots family spend Christmas in hospital as tiny one-year-old battles cancer

A Scots family has thanked medics for making their Christmas special while their tiny tot battles cancer. Little River Staff-Menzies is currently getting chemotherapy at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children as he battles his ependymoma.

The condition is a type of tumor that can form in the brain or spinal cord. Parents Robert Menzies, 32, and Katie Staff, 33, stayed with the one-year-old on the Schiehallion ward and are now hailing staff for keeping the magic alive - despite the circumstances.Robert, from Glasgow, said: “The staff have been amazing, I don’t think they realise just how amazing they have been with us throughout all of this.“Everyone has been so good with us, including the doctors, nurses, cleaning staff and non-medical
