Dumfriesshire eco homes Dormont Park is an eight property Passivhaus development in Dumfries and Galloway and the largest of its kind in Scotland.These homes, on the Dormont Estate near Lockerbie, are entirely energy efficient buildings that retain heat and do not require any conventional heating.All heat is generated from within each house and retained while hot water is generated using solar and biomass renewable energy.

These eco-friendly homes have removed the threat of fuel poverty for tenants and have reduced the amount CO2 emitted every year by 60 tonnes per house.It also means lower energy bills in an area off mains gas, which, with affordable rent levels, are having a significant impact on tenants’ disposable incomes and helping to.
