Scot devastated after car smashes into cemetery wall destroying parents' headstones

A son has been left devastated after a car crashed into a cemetery wall and destroyed his parents’ headstones. David Trotter was shocked to discover the car had smashed into the wall of Cockpen Graveyard in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, where Alexander and Cecily Trotter are buried next to each other.

David, 68, said the vehicle hit the wall on Boxing Day and was later found abandoned by police. His parents’ headstones were embedded in debris making it impossible to see the full extent of the damage.Despite reporting it to the council, David was concerned any movement could cause the wall to crumble further.
