A Ryanair flight was held up for nearly five hours after engineers discovered a cracked toilet pipe on the plane. In the chaos of the delayed flight widespread confusion led to a number of people missing a completely separate flight to Italy.
Flight FR3104 was supposed to fly from Dublin Airport on Friday at 3:30pm, and scheduled to land in Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam.
However, the expected one hour and ten minute journey soon turned into a six-hour odyssey as passengers only arrived in the Dutch capital after 11pm that evening.
One passenger on the flight revealed how the delays began as they were queuing up to board. He told Dublin Live : “The gate was due to open at 2:40, but we were left standing there until half 3. “I didn’t think much of it, it’s a standard thing to be a little bit late, but when we were stuck on the tarmac not being allowed on board, it began to get a bit suspicious.“We could see flight crew and some lads in high-viz going up and down the plane quickly.
