direct to your inboxA world-renowned roller derby team face losing their iconic venue in Oldham if council plans to demolish the building go ahead.Rainy City Roller Derby were told on Friday that their landlord is in talks with Oldham Council over the sale of the Thunderdome premises on King Street.The building has been home to the team's track for around ten years.In a comment on Twitter, Oldham Council Leader Sean Fielding said there is 'extant planning permission on that site for new homes'.A spokesman for Oldham Council said that no 'formal decision' has been made about the building, but they are 'keen to help' the team.The team - one of the top ten in the world - was left 'devastated' after the announcement was made by their landlord.
