His body was discovered in Hollinwood on Friday, December 4. Emergency services raced to Roman Road at around 9:30am following a report of concern for a man's welfare.There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, police said.
A file has been passed to the coroner.The diocese have now paid tribute to Fr McKie.Born in Moss Side in December 1938, he was baptised at English Martyrs in Whalley Range on Christmas Day 1938.He was educated at English Martyrs and at St Bede’s College in south Manchester, also spending time at St Cuthbert's College in Ushaw, County Durham.He was ordained.
