Tim Gray Senior Vice PresidentRespectAbility will have a heavy presence at Sundance this year, with a lineup of virtual panels and discussions, all on digital Main Street.The disability advocacy group is presenting five conversations under the umbrella title the Accessibility & Inclusion Lab; two of the events are in collaboration with Film Independent.A goal is to encourage authentic representation of disabled people on screen, and to help change how audiences view people with disabilities.

Another goal is to give filmmakers the tools to make films more accessible, both for disabled crew members and for audiences.According to Nielsen, the disability market influences more than a trillion dollars in disposable income.

‘9-1-1’ Actor Rockmond Dunbar Sues Disney and Fox Over COVID Vaccine-Related Firing
Zack Sharf Rockmond Dunbar has filed a lawsuit against Disney and 20th Century Fox over his firing from the procedural television series “9-1-1.” Dunbar, who played Michael Grant for five seasons, is unvaccinated against COVID. The actor said he filed paperwork to the studios seeking a religious and medical exemption for the COVID vaccine.“In September 2021, [the studios] introduced a new policy mandating that all employees be vaccinated against COVID-19, but allowed actors like Mr. Dunbar to request an accommodation based on either medical or religious reasons,” the lawsuit reads.

Not since Abbott and Costello in Buck Privates in 1941 and Lewis and Martin in At War With the Army in 1950 has a film raised greater concern about who they’re letting into the military these days than does Dog. Although he certainly possesses the requisite physique, Channing Tatum’s Army Ranger Briggs most of the time seems like such a screw-up that you’d definitely want him on the other guy’s team. The power of this Dog lies in its half-canine/half-human buddy comedy, which is genial enough, even if its aim is scatter-shot and its comic tone decidedly hit-and-miss.
