Hundreds of thousands of teenagers across the country are being given their results today. It comes after exams were cancelled this year for the second year in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year, teachers in England submitted their decisions on pupils’ A-level and GCSE grades after drawing on a range of evidence, including mock exams, coursework and in-class assessments using questions by exam boards. Secondary ticketing websites could be shut down if breaking consumer protection rules

coronavirus pandemic.Under the new proposals, websites such as Viagogo and StubHub would need to gain licenses to operate, and could be fined or have their sites taken down if they are found to break consumer protection rules.The rules would mean that such websites would be unable to list tickets at greater than face value price or face closure.In response to the CMA’s proposals, Labour MP Sharon Hodgson – who has led of a group of MPs examining secondary ticket use – said work needs to be done to tackle the “parasitical market” of secondary ticketing.“The abuses in the secondary ticket market are clear as day and the CMA have been provided a wealth of evidence on this,” Hodgson said.
