Footage captured by a member of staff at the Livingston facility saw three of the cows running around the field basking in the snow.
They usually have to stay inside to avoid damaging the ground during wet winters, but the frozen ground this week has meant they could venture outside.The post from the Heritage Centre said: "Normally over the winter our Highland cattle are in their house."This is because they are such big animals and they cause a lot of ground damage in the wet season."With the ground being frozen and so hard at the moment with a covering of snow, the animal team let them out.
