Rangers are reportedly refusing to hand over evidence of alleged SPFL wrong-doing until an independent inquiry is established.

In an explosive statement on Saturday the Ibrox club called for chief executive Neil Doncaster to be suspended as they expressed "serious concerns" about the governance of the SPFL.

The governing body hit back and instructed Rangers to either provide evidence or withdraw their allegations. Now The Athletic reports that the Premiership club are refusing to hand over any more evidence until an investigation is opened.

On Friday clubs voted on a motion to end the lower league seasons with the tables as they stand, while giving the SPFL the power to take the same decision for the top flight at a later date.
