Hamilton Accies’ forward Callum Smith reckons the steep learning curve against Motherwell and Rangers has prepared him first-team success.

The attacker is hoping to work his way into Brian Rice’s starting line-up this weekend as Accies’ return to Scottish Premiership action against Livingston.

The 20-year-old, who was playing for Airdrieonians in League One last term, is raring to go if handed a start at The Tony Macaroni Arena after his early-season experiences.

He said: “League One to the Premiership has been a big jump, but I feel I have handled it well so far.“I’ve not had lots of game time, but I can see the jump.“I’m loving it though and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.“I’m taking as it comes just now, but I’ve had good.
