Queens have been hit with more injuries as their unbeaten run came to an end against table toppers Falkirk on Saturday. The players stood up to the pressure from the league leaders for long spells of the game but were beaten 1-0 as they conceded within a minute of the second half.

Daniel Church was out with a hamstring problem and striker Gavin Reilly missed the game with his arm in a cast due to a fractured finger.

Manager Marvin Bartley was proud of his players’ efforts. He said: “You never want to lose a game of football, but I thought the players gave me everything. “We had come up with a game plan and they stuck to it to the best of their ability.

Their energy levels, endeavour, and work rate within that was terrific. We lose a goal at the start of the second half that is more than avoidable — but you get that with young players sometimes, they’re going to make mistakes.” Queens had been resolute throughout the first half and limited the home side’s chances but went behind just 35 seconds after the break.
