Image is everything for our Royal Family but when the Queen’s children put their respect at risk, she just couldn’t say no. In June 1987, Prince Edward recruited his siblings to take part in the silliest game show on TV - ending in hideous humiliation.

More than 18 million people watched the special episode of It’s a Royal Knockout at Alton Towers. Edward, Anne, Andrew and Fergie donned medieval costumes and went head-to-head in ridiculous games to raise £1million for charity. The nation howled at their expense and the Queen was less than impressed.
