Prisoner set for trial over jail murder of fellow inmate at Scots nick

prisoner is due to face trial over claims he murdered another inmate in a Scottish jail. James O'Rourke - who is said to have strangled Dean Ramsay at Glenochil Prison, in Alloa, Clackmannanshire - made a second court appearance in connection with his death today (FRI).

Prosecutors claim O'Rourke, 50, did "tie a ligature round his neck and compress his neck" during an incident at the nick on Saturday, January 9 this year.

Ramsay, 30, was found injured following the alleged attack and was rushed to the Forth Valley Royal Hospital, in Larbert. He died two days after the alleged attack, leading to Police Scotland launching a murder probe.
