Premier League shareholders meeting took place via video link on Friday afternoon and it was agreed that the new season would start on September 12.
With the 2019/20 season finishing more than two months later than planned, the start of the 2020/21 campaign has been pushed back.
Originally scheduled for 8 August, the Premier League is now set to start over a month later than planned and conclude on May 23 next year. “Premier League Shareholders today agreed to start the 2020/21 Premier League season on 12 September 2020,” a statement from the Premier League said.“The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May 2021.“The Premier League will continue to consult The FA and EFL regarding the scheduling of all domestic.
