Police and council officers are looking at whether a rise in begging across Stirling could be down to people trafficking.A team will explore reasons for the increase and whether some of those involved could be victims of exploitation.Tory councillor Ross Oxburgh raised the issue at last Thursday’s full meeting of Stirling Council, asking what work had been carried out to establish the extent of people trafficking within commercial begging in the Stirling area.Public safety convener Councillor Maureen Bennison said: “Tackling people trafficking requires a multi-agency approach, which is led by Police Scotland and any intelligence in relation to people trafficking is passed to Police Scotland through our local authority liaison officer.“There
