Police make more arrests in Aya Hachem murder investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of University of Salford law student Aya Hachem have made two more arrests, police revealed tonight.

A woman aged 29 and a 39-year-old man were both arrested in Blackburn on Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of the 19-year-old's murder, Lancashire Police said.

Both remained in custody for questioning tonight. The arrests mean 11 people have now been detained by police in connection with Aya's murder.

All 11 remain in police custody. The latest arrests in Blackburn, Lancashire, follow the arrests earlier today of two women, aged 19 and 26, on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
