Three more arrests after Salford University student Aya Hachem shot in chest

Detectives investigating the death of Salford University student Aya Hachem who was shot in the chest have made three further arrests.

Two men, aged 31 and 35, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Aya, 19, was shot in broad daylight on Sunday while she was out shopping near to the Lidl supermarket on King Street in Blackburn.

A post-mortem found that she died as a result of a gunshot wound to her chest. Police believe the shots were fired from a a light silver or green Toyota Avensis which drove past her in the moments leading up to her death.
