PADDY McGuinness has revealed that he and wife Christine fell into a “depressive state” due to lack of sleep caused by twins Leo and Penelope.

The 48-year-old opened up about the difficult time in their lives, admitting it “really affected them” as he discussed life with autistic children.

The twins, who are now eight, their daughter Felicity, five, and now Christine have all been diagnosed with autism. Recalling what life was like when they were younger, Paddy said:  “When I think back to the twins - Leo and Penelope, up to kind of being 4 or 5-years-old - the lack of sleep that me and Christine had really affected us. “I think that's when I first started going into that kind of depressive state.

I felt like I was permanently jetlagged.” Christine went on to say how she was inspired by her kids, telling the MailOnline:  “When I've taken our children out and about - they're completely not interested in what anyone thinks of them.
