Over half a month worth of rain to hit Scotland in 24 hours as Met Office issues yellow weather warning

weather experts issue a yellow warning for much of Scotland. Forecasters at the Met Office are predicting a washout on the west coast between 1am on Friday and 3am on Saturday.

Experts say 60mm of rain could fall in some parts of the Strathclyde region during that time before showers clear later on Saturday morning.

The Met Office is warning that the adverse weather could cause disruption to travel on the roads and on public transport. Forecasters have also stated that a few homes and businesses could be flooded as a result of the conditions.

Areas such as Glasgow, Stirling, Ayrshire and Dumfries are expected to bear the brunt of the poor weather. The forecast for tonight and tomorrow reads: “A dry evening with some late sunshine.
