Nicola Sturgeon is urging Scots to protest online and avoid today's Black Lives Matter rallies. The First Minister warned a mass meet up would not be safe as the country remains in Phase 1 of ending lockdown.

Fearing coronavirus could spread causing a spike in the pandemic, the SNP leader urged protesters to 'make their voices heard' virtually instead.

It comes as more than 8000 people have registered their interest in attending the planned demonstration in Glasgow today, forcing organisers to move it from George Square to Glasgow Green.
