New College Lanarkshire extends its free breakfasts for students scheme

Students at the campuses of a Lanarkshire college will be able to enjoy a free breakfast on each term-time morning to set them up for their studies.New College Lanarkshire is continuing its successful “breakfast is on us” programme as the new academic year gets underway, offering free toast, porridge and hot drinks each day.

It has proved a great success since first being introduced six months ago following a popular pre-Covid pilot, and aims to support students with their learning as well as helping address the cost of living.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Its continuation follows a trial of the breakfast initiative at the Cumbernauld town centre campus just a month before lockdown, which college officials say was enjoyed by “scores of students” and received “overwhelmingly positive feedback”.
