The 188-bed hotel would contain a coffee lounge connected to a first-floor bar and restaurant with a gym on the second floor for hotel guests only.The site in the Greengate area of Salford neighbours the Citysuites Aparthotel, which is owned by the company behind the Embankment West towers.Select Property Group, which is currently constructing the residential blocks to the north of the Maldron site, objected to the proposals for the new hotel.Speaking on behalf of the developer at a planning panel meeting on Thursday (February 4), Dan Jestico, Director of Futures at Iceni Projects, said the new hotel would have a 'detrimental impact' on these neighbouring buildings.He highlighted loss of light and overlooking as his client's key.
