Neilston are on the hunt for reinforcements after their depleted side suffered a painful double injury blow during their loss to Blantyre Vics. The Farmer’s Boys took the lead against the hosts through Dylan Fletcher’s fine finish and had other chances to extend their advantage after a quick start to Saturday’s match. But in the space of two first half minutes the Renfrewshire side lost centre back Paul Doyle to a hamstring injury, before key midfielder Kieron Maxwell suffered suspected cruciate ligament damage. After reshuffling their side, Neilston couldn’t hold on to their lead and went on to lose the game, causing them to slip back to third in the FIrst Division table with Vics leapfrogging them. And co-manager Chris Cameron revealed the club are on the lookout for new signings as they look to make their way through their injury crisis and still stay in contention at the top to the table.Cameron told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “It was a really frustrating afternoon because we’d started the game very well.“We scored first and had plenty of opportunities to go further ahead, but then lost Paul Doyle and Kieron Maxwell within the space of a couple of minutes.“Losing those two key players had a real impact on the boys.“We had to change the personnel and shape, but we were asking a lot of boys to play in positions they weren’t used to.

We’re already missing three key players and now that’s another two that look set to be out for a significant period.“Their second goal was disappointing, we had chances to stop the cross coming in and then chances to clear the danger and we didn’t deal with it.“But I can’t be too critical of the boys because they are giving all they’ve got.
