A woman married her cat in the hopes of preventing future landlords from telling her she can't keep the pet. Deborah Hodge, 49, says she has been forced to give away three animals in the past due to landlords enforcing a pet ban in their properties.
Now facing eviction and fearing she will lose five-year-old India, Deborah tied the knot with her beloved kitty in a civil ceremony on April 19, according to Berkshire Live.
The single mum-of-two, from Sidcup, south east London, hopes the marriage will convince potential landlords not to separate them and show just how important India is to her.She said: "I had nothing to lose and everything to gain so I married my cat!
I recited vows under the universe that no man will ever tear myself and India apart."I set out my intention that I would never be separated from the animal I adore.
