Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our personalised newsletter.A star of hit comedy Mrs Brown’s Boys is championing the cause of a Lanarkshire charity formed in memory of a young Hamilton man who was murdered 16 years ago.Scots actor Gary Hollywood, who previously lived in Hamilton, plays hairdresser Dino Doyle in the show, and jumped at the chance to become an ambassador for FAMS.The organisation provides support to people affected by murder and suicide, and to those encountering mental health and wellbeing issues.It was formed shortly after the murder of Paul Gerard McGilvray, of Neilsland Road, Hamilton, back in 2004.And recently FAMS recruited more than 50 volunteers as it launched its new support.
