Mitch Clark has left Wigan Warriors with immediate effect. Rugby League Live understands the Warriors have parted ways with the forward after coming to terms on a financial settlement with the 28-year-old.

The forward had another year to run on his contract but the club has now come to terms over his release after two frustrating years at the DW Stadium.

Clark arrived at the club from Castleford Tigers but never forced his way into Adrian Lam's plans, regularly finding himself out of the matchday squad.

He was ultimately restricted to just 17 appearances in cherry and white, and will now play his rugby elsewhere next year. The news will come as little surprise to many, with Clark's move to the club simply not working out as intended.
