Jackson Rutland, 19, contacted his ex around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday to inform her he had taken some of her mother's ashes.The ex was not home at the time, as she had spent the night at a friend's house.

A Minnesota convicted felon is accused of trying to murder his ex-girlfriend while out on bond. Tylynne Lashawn Wilson, 40, allegedly broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend in Minneapolis and fired 12 shots at her on Monday in the presence of their son, according to FOX 9. Minneapolis police officers responded to the incident and found the child next to her mother on the bedroom floor, where she was injured with several gunshot wounds, according to charging documents.

Police in Stockton, California announced that a suspect has been arrested in relation to six murders and one shooting since April 2021. Stockton City Manager Harry Black announced that Wesley Brownlee, 43, was arrested while he was armed and on a "mission to kill" another victim.

Iranian protesters have demanded "justice" for a woman who was assaulted by anti-riot police, with one officer forcibly grabbing her bottom and then pushing her on the ground.  The video, captured on a security camera at the Argentina Square in Tehran on Wednesday, shows police surrounding the woman. A homeless woman who allegedly robbed a dead man in New York City and has dozens of prior arrests was freed without bail Friday, according to reports.  Geniece Draper, 40, was let go after her arraignment in a Manhattan courtroom, the New York Post reported. She is accused of pickpocketing a wallet from a man last week as he remained under a truck that had crushed him moments earlier.  She is charged with grand and petty larceny for allegedly stealing from 62-year-old Jerome Smith. She was arrested a short time later at a Times Square subway station.

A North Carolina district attorney is planning on charging the 15-year-old male suspect in Thursday's shooting in Raleigh, which left five people dead, as an adult. Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman told Fox News Digital that she plans to charge the 15-year-old male suspect as an adult, "assuming he recovers." The 15-year-old male, who hasn't been named by officials, is accused of opening fire in Raleigh near the Neuse River Greenway area shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Police in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, found "multiple objects in the water that appear to be human remains" in the Deep Fork River Friday amid a days-long search for four missing cyclists, authorities said. Mark Chastain, 32; Billy Chastain, 30; Mike Sparks, 32; and Alex Stevens, 29, of Okmulgee, were reported missing Monday evening. The woman added that Nicholas, who the Post said was a divorced father, was a "big teddy bear."  Another neighbor told the outlet that Nicholas would visit his brother and that he was "always drinking."  "I don’t know much about [Nicholas], except he drinks a lot," he said. Former North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Cheri Beasley, the state's Democratic candidate for Senate, received an endorsement from a major racial justice group that supports defunding and disbanding the police. A Kansas woman accused of murdering her ex-husband and his girlfriend two decades ago has been released on bond after a judge reduced the amount to $350,000 from $1 million last month. A Georgia man is behind bars on multiple charges after he allegedly tried to kill twin infants.
