Martha Stewart is on the mend. The 79-year-old chef and lifestyle guru took to her Instagram on Wednesday (June 30) to reveal that she recently had to undergo a “three-hour operation.” Click inside to find out what happened… “Not the prettiest photo nor the happiest back story.

Bad timing all around. Ruptured my Achilles’ tendon a while ago,” Martha wrote along with a photo of her left leg all wrapped up in bandages. “Tried to get it to heal on its own to no avail.

The great @drjohnkennedy @nyulangone performed a three hour operation yesterday to repair the damage,” Martha continued. “Recuperating at home I have been ordered to lay still with leg elevated for two weeks.
