Manchester United will play Young Boys at Old Trafford next week after the Swiss side were given exemption from new travel restrctions.

There had been fears that a neutral venue for the final Champions League group stage fixture would have to be found after the Omricon variant of Covid-19 saw a raft of new measures introduced in Europe.

The Swiss government has imposed a 10-day quarantine on travellings from certain countries, including the United Kingdom, which would have meant Young Boys would have been unable to travel to England to fulfil the fixture.

That would have led to the match being switched to a neutral venue, as happened with several games in the competition towards the end of 2019/20 and last season.
